Wow, I just found this nice Flash demo. It shows how to create Java applications for Gnome using java-gnome, Eclipse and Glade2.
It’s really amazing to see how fast and easy one can build GTK Java apps. You simply create a Java project in Eclipse and add two jars to your classpath. Then you create the GUI visually in Glade and save it into the Eclipse project. It’s XML that contains your GUI and can be modified without editing any line of Java code.
Nice set of tools.
If you ever wanted to adapt the Microsoft Office XP or 2003 Look and Feel in your Java Swing applications that’s easily possible with OfficeLnFs. But what about SWT? Anybody interested in writing Eclipse RCP applications, which look like Office 2003? I’ve opend bug 90145 to investigate the support from SWT/Eclipse for such a look.
Eclipse 3.1 M6 is now available. Note the hot Curry tracking feature.
