Tempus Fugit

Today, we have May. There is only one week and a half left till June and there will definitly be a lot of great events in June: First, there is my wedding. Then we are awaiting eagerly the summer. It’s still too cold and rainy here. And last but not least, there will be yet another great release of Eclipse.

M7 is out and the 3.1 release is nearly feature complete. In my opinion, Eclipse 3.1 will be one of the best releases ever. A lot of investment was done to clean up forgotten nooks and to improve rough edges, performance and scalability. But that’s not all. Even the community and the foundation evolved in a very statisfactory manner.

We had a great EclipseCon. I’m still very sad that I didn’t get a budget to visit. 🙁 And now we have Planet Eclipse and the blogs from Mike Milinkovich, Ian Skerrett and Bjorn Freeman-Benson. All three are very positive for the Eclipse Foundation. They got new and old members of the Eclipse Foundation to join as strategic developers, which is very important for Eclipse. Also, we already see some first benefits of this synergy and I’m pretty sure there will be a lot more.
