OK, looks like I’m celebrating Eclipse’s 5th birthday here. I’m in Toronto for the next two weeks (till Nov. 10th). BTW, my birthday is tomorrow so it’s very close to Eclipse’s birthday. I’m wondering how many from the community are celebrating their birthday on the same day?
I’m staying at the Holiday Inn Midtown (near St. George subway station). So if you want to meet for a beer or two and chat about Eclipse or that other great stuff referred to as “partying” just drop me a mail.
A couple of minutes ago I arrived in Esslingen. I’m staying at the Hotel am Schillerpark in Esslingen. It’s a nice hotel and only an 800m walk away from the Eclipse Summit Europe. The trip was quite good. It was a 5 hour train ride.
I generally enjoy traveling the Deutsche Bahn ICE. It’s quiet, smooth and you have a full power connector below your seat where you can plug-in your notebook. So you don’t have to worry about your battery.
It’s so great to have this event hosted by the Eclipse Foundation here in Europe. I can’t wait to see them all again. Last time I met with Wayne, Denis, Matt and Nathan was in Ottawa. I stopped by the sanctuary – the Foundation office – during my vacation together with my wife. BTW, she still wonders why that place is a sanctuary.
If you are in Esslingen too and want to meet, just drop me a mail or say hi if you see me.
Nathan is working hard to give the Eclipse.org home page a new look. In the discussion someone asked why we don’t switch to a complete different theme/skin. I hacked together a mock-up of the Eclipse.org home page how it could look like using the Lazarus skin (used by Mylar).
