Updates from the EclipseCon PC

Today we had our weekly conference call of the EclipseCon 2006 Program Committee. I want to give you an update about our work to keep it open and transparent for you.

After two voting rounds we started selecting the first tutorials. Well, it’s a really hard job. There are so many great submissions. Unfortunately, we don’t have enough slots available to accept them all. Our Program Chair Tim Wagner (BEA) will publish the results soon on Eclipsezilla. The selected tutorials will be updated to reflect their state.

Once again, I like to thank all presenters for submitting their tutorials. Our decisions are based on community feedback collected in submission comments and votes as well as our ratings of the tutorial content. We also need to take care of the overall program. It must be of high quality and well balanced for a wide range of target audiences. So this is really challenging.

We are planning to select the next (and probably last) round of tutorials in our next call. I really enjoy working with the EclipseCon 2006 PC. It’s a great team.
