Customize Eclipse Bugzilla?

Wednesday, December 21st, 2005, 11:40:08 +0200, Gunnar Wagenknecht

Eclipse committers check it out: I’ve opened bug 121703 to raise a discussion about the future of the Eclipse Bugzilla strategy. The current strategy is to use Bugzilla out-of-the-box. Should the Foundation continue with this strategy or are there useful customizations that can and should be applied to the Eclipse Bugzilla?

Why not use http://www.mantis.org ? Easy to get going and much more intuitive than Bugzilla.

  2. Gunnar Wagenknecht Says:

I know about Mantis and a few others. I evaluated them all for Intershop a while back. They all have some advantages and also disadvantages compared to Bugzilla.

Anyway, Bugzilla is a well established tool at Eclipse.org (~130,000 issues and growing). I don’t think that it should be easily changed.
